Campus Dining Advisory Board

About the Advisory Board

The purpose of the Campus Dining Advisory Board is to provide student input to Campus Dining senior leadership as they work to advance the mission and service of Campus Dining.

Members will be expected to:

  • Provide input on student-focused issues and needs as it pertains to the operational functions of Campus Dining.

  • Make suggestions to, and engage in discussion with, the Campus Dining lead team for enhancements to services and new program initiatives. The programs are based on student input regarding their wants and needs as it applies to customer service and the customer health and nutrition of the student which are financially sound recommendations.

  • Will receive education on the functions of Campus Dining and input from the Departmental lead the team on the development and progress of new initiatives and enhancements prior to, and post-release of projects.

  • Work together with the Campus Dining Lead team to develop programs to educate the student body of the Campus Dining program initiatives pertaining to trending food cultures, student food health, and student-focused driven programs that provide an excellent customer service experience for the student guest.

Participation

The Campus Dining Advisory Committee is composed of 6-10 members from student leadership organizations across campus as well as general student representatives. The sole requirement to participate is to be a meal plan participant.

Membership terms last from October to October, with applications open August to September of each year.

We strive to have a cross-section of representatives from student organizations and campus involvement representing a diverse student population. Any Appalachian student, with a meal plan, is eligible to participate in the Appalachian Campus Dining Advisory Board.  Prospective members should have a strong interest in food as it relates to the health and well being of the student body. Members are selected based on their interest in the foodservice program of Appalachian State.

Faculty and staff are welcome to provide input to the board via email sent to dining@appstate.edu.
