  • Winter Weather Advisory

    The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Watauga County, NC between 4 am Tuesday, December 12 until 7 am Wednesday, December 13. This includes Appalachian State University. Up to 3 inches of snow can be expected. Be prepared for cold temperatures, wind chill values below zero by early Wednesday morning, and blowing snow. Use caution while traveling.

  • Wind Advisory

    The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for Watauga County, NC between 4 am Tuesday, December 12 until 7 am Wednesday, December 13. This includes Appalachian State University. Sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph can be expected. Be alert for falling tree limbs/trees. Be prepared for reduced visibility caused by blowing snow, along with isolated power outages.

Roess Dining Hall

The Central Dining Hall opened in January 2009 [campus map]. It was renamed the Roess Dining Hall in March 2014. It features numerous dining venues that offer different kinds of meals, snacks, desserts – all prepared under the watchful eye of the dining hall's Chef on staff.

The Roess Dining Hall is home to both the Rivers Street Cafe and Sanford Commons.

 

 

Trivette Hall

Trivette Hall [campus map] overlooks Appalachian's scenic duck pond and is home to Park Place at the Pond and McAlister's Select. The Market at Trivette (see below) is also located here. 

 

Student Recreation Center

The SRC features the Power Bar, where students, faculty and staff can grab a pre or post workout snack. Choose from Blended smoothies, snacks, sandwiches, fruit and an array of beverages.

The Markets

The Markets, located in Trivette Hall, the University Bookstore and the Appalachian Panhellenic Hall, offer a large variety of convenience store items. The Market also offers candy bars, drinks, fresh fruits, and a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan items. Also included are health and beauty aids for your convenience.

Vending

Vending services on campus are operated by Appalachian Food Services. The vending machines on campus are designed to accept cash or valid AppCards with account balances. Any suggestions or requests for service or refunds should be made by calling 828-262-3061.
