National Nutrition Month® is a nutrition education and information campaign created annually in March by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The campaign focuses attention on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits.
In order to encourage small eating habit changes that could have lasting impacts, Food Services will send out Meatless Monday reminders. These reminders will include a list of that Monday's meatless meal options. Why go meatless?
- Save money - Adding meat to a meal increases the cost.
- Sustainability - Consuming less meat can improve health, cancer risk and can lower the environmental impact of your food.
- More fruits and veggies - On Meatless Mondays, challenge yourself to increase your week's intake of plant-based vitamins and minerals.
To make sure you're getting our Meatless Monday reminders, please sign up for our Food Services Annoucement group.
